Test the connection at the screen
Run a normal network test where the TV, streaming box, or laptop actually sits. A fast result beside the router does not always reflect performance in another room.
Check whether other devices are downloading updates, backing up files, gaming online, or taking video calls at the same time.

When Ethernet can help
Ethernet gives a fixed device a direct wired connection and can reduce interference from walls or other wireless devices. It is often a practical option for a main TV screen.
Strong Wi-Fi can still work very well when the router is nearby and the household network is not crowded. The best choice depends on your home layout.
Match quality to the real network
Choose a reasonable quality option for the connection and device. Higher labels are not always better when the signal is inconsistent.
If quality changes at certain times of day, record when it happens and what else is using your home network before requesting support.
